a) Climate-Smart Livestock Shelters

CLIMAAGRO designs and promotes modular, low-cost shelter models tailored to local conditions, including:

Heat-resilient sheds with optimized ventilation, shade, and airflow
Raised and sloped platforms to protect animals from stagnant water, mud, and floodwater
Improved flooring and drainage for hygiene, easier cleaning, and reduced disease
Integrated shade and green cover (trees, creepers) to reduce heat stress
Solar-enabled features (fans, lights, small pumps) where feasible
Women-friendly layouts that consider safety, mobility, and workload

Shelters are designed using local materials and skills to keep costs low and maintenance easy, while meeting climate-resilient standards.

Improved feeding and nutrition: Balanced rations, fodder conservation, drought-resilient fodder
Water management: Clean drinking water points, rainwater harvesting and storage options for animals
Animal health & welfare: Preventive vaccination, deworming, hygiene, and early disease detection
Manure and waste management: Composting, biomanure use in kitchen gardens, safe disposal to reduce pollution

These packages are delivered through trainings, field demonstrations, and easy-to-understand information materials.

Training Community Livestock Extension Workers (CLEWs), with a priority on women and youth
